Now that you know what this blog is going to talk about, I would like to explain you what is thinking. Thinking is the set of processes that we make in order to make a reason with something, or to solve a problem, it is related with all the cognitive skills that we have developed all over the years without even notice. But many psychologist have studied the different types of processes that we make while we are thinking, and they proposed 4 different types of thinking. Jean Piaget is one of the main psycologist that studied the cognitive processes that we make during the solution of a problem, he also state that our way of thinking is changing during different stages, and also is related to our way we think, while some one could think out of the box, another ones rather to be more logical. But we all merge in one, in our early years of growth.

The first one is the Concrete Thinking which consists in a way to make connections with the things that we see and focus on the literal thinking, the concrete thinking is the one that you will develop in the early years, and it is going to help you to understand the abstract parts of the things, strange, isn’t it?

Now we are going to talk about the Logical Thinking this process is related to the sequential thought. The set of process that we do during the arranging the ideas that you may have for the solution, you will be looking for facts in order to managed the conclusions that you are thinking of. Basically to think logically is to think as you were in a programming language, in steps.

Then we have the Inferential Thinking, which is related to the things that we can observe and the inferences that we can make in order complete the information that is missing in a text, or a quotidian situation. This is a skill developed in reading activity.

Finally, the last type of thinking that we are going to define is the Critical Thinking which is basically the one that we developed in our adult age, this type of thinking consists on the analysis, and the evaluation of a situation, this require more time to think on a solution, more tools will be used to complete the analysis, and the combination of different experiences and previous knowledge.

It is important to know this tools in order to have a good relation between your thoughts and your possible solutions, and to know that for the same situation you can reach a solution in many different ways.
