As you may imagine there are many different tools that could help you in the development of your project, some of them are complex, some other are not, but in this case what I am about to explain you might be a bit complex, but the understanding of the different parts of the Theory Of Change is going to be necessary to an easier comprehension of the topic, so do not worry if you feel like it is bit complex, because once that you have all the pieces together you will be able to see, how powerful this tool is, and the scope of the same.

Many people try to make an impact in their society, and they start to do tasks that does not lead you to any change, and this is exactly what is not going to happen if you use the Theory of Change because this tool is going to give us a new perspective abut the objectives and goals that we have to do in order to generate an impact, and this comes with many benefits, such as a logical process of how the impact is going to be made. So the steps needed to introduce you to the Theory of Change according to it’s page are the following.

  1. Identifying long-term goals. Here what we are going to be dealing with is the objective of your project. In which situation, or problematic would you like to be working on? Remember that the long-term goals need to be SMART
  2. Connecting the requirements necessary to achieve that goal. Now realized what are your resources, what could you put from your part in order to solve the problem that you are working with, or the SMART goal that you want to accomplished
  3. Identifying assumptions of the context. This assumptions are going to be very helpful once that you have more that one, because one of them might be a key assumption so that you will have a very strong point to support.
  4. Identifying the interventions that will perform your desired change. The needed activities that you will be managing with, in order to get the desire output, the things that will cost you time, knowledge and sacrifice.
  5. Developing indicators to measure your outcomes to assess the performance of your initiative. Make a system where you can put the outcome and you can compere the differences between the before and the after of your idea or project
